How Exactly Does Invisalign Work?

After your free consultation, one of our dentists in St. Albert will take a 3D scan of your teeth, and create a treatment plan unique to your personal situation. Our dentists will provide you with the many aligners necessary as your treatment progresses. Each tray will be used for a duration of about 10-14 days and swapped out as your teeth slowly begin to shift and realign into the desired position.

What Happens During My Free Orthodontic Consultation?

During your one-on-one visit with one of our St. Albert Dentists, we will take iTero 3D scans as well as panoramic X-rays and photos of your teeth.  Upon review of these images, we will be able to digitally straighten your teeth, mapping out the best treatment plan for you!

At Erin Ridge Dental in St. Albert, we offer Invisalign for all ages, with different options for adults, teens, and kids!  Invisalign is a clear, gentle alternative to braces, which not only works faster, but is often more affordable than traditional metal braces.

Our clear aligners work over a span of 6-24 months, but you will be able to notice a difference in your smile after only a few weeks!  In order for the treatment to work, the aligners need to be worn at least 22 hours a day but can be removed for meals so they don’t restrict your diet. Our St. Albert dentists advise that the trays be swapped out approximately every two weeks, and upon completion of treatment, a retainer will be provided to ensure your perfect smile lasts a lifetime.

Invisalign For The Entire Family

Why should you consider Invisalign?

There are many perks to choosing Invisalign near you as your favoured treatment option, some of which include:

In many cases, Invisalign can be much more affordable than braces. With many of our patients being able to complete treatment for less than $5,999!

Our Clear Aligners are made with a soft pliable plastic which reduces irritation, whereas braces are made with metal brackets and wires which are scratchy and uncomfortable.

Invisalign is arguably the most discreet option for straightening your teeth, as the clear trays blend in to your teeth, similar to whitening strips.

Unlike braces, clear aligners will not restrict your diet and things you are allowed to eat!  Since the trays are removable, just pop them out for meals and snacks, and replace them once you’ve cleaned your teeth again.

Oral Hygiene

Since your trays are removable, it is much easier to maintain healthy oral hygiene than braces, since brushing and flossing won’t be inhibited by bulky brackets and wires.

Invisalign works faster than braces, allowing you to complete treatment in 6-18 months, rather than in 2-3 years for braces.

Choosing Between Invisalign and Braces

The choice between Invisalign and traditional braces often hinges on aesthetic and comfort preferences. Braces, with their visible brackets and wires, are a familiar sight, but Invisalign offers a more discreet alternative with clear aligners that blend seamlessly with your smile. This aesthetic advantage is a significant factor for many in today’s professional world. Beyond looks, Invisalign also stands out for its comfort, offering a gentle and consistent pressure compared to the sometimes painful experience of wire adjustments with braces. Invisalign’s flexibility, ease, and more spaced-out dental check-ups create a treatment experience that works around you. If aesthetic appeal and comfort are paramount in your decision-making, consider exploring Invisalign with us at Erin Ridge Dental. Starting as low as $1899, it’s a modern solution for a confident smile.

Invisalign for kids and teens in St. Albert.

At Erin Ridge Dental, we offer Invisalign Teen, which although similar to the adult version, there are some important differences to note:

Coloured Compliance tabs

Each Teen aligner has a blue dot indicator that disappears after 2 weeks of wear. This allows the wearer to remember to wear the aligners and also informs our St. Albert dentists if they are being worn enough, indicating when it is time to move on to the next set.

Replacing Lost Aligners

We totally understand mistakes happen! That’s why Erin Ridge Dental includes 6 additional aligners for FREE in the case that a tray is lost or broken.

New Teeth Eruption Tabs

Since you can start treatment before all adult teeth have come out (erupted), we include additional space in the aligners to allow for their growth.

Invisalign is a series of aligners designed from 3D panoramic scans and X-rays detailing a treatment plan unique to your dental situation. Over the weeks and series of different aligners, your teeth will slowly move into your desired position.

What many people don’t realize is that misaligned teeth can actually have several negative effects on your health, and when left untreated can become increasingly troublesome and expensive to fix.  Some of the negative health issues that can occur include tooth loss, chipping, breaking, and preventable wear, as well as airway issues and stress on the jaw.

Invisalign can be used to treat the vast majority of orthodontic ailments, so it is really up to the individual to decide if they would like to do the treatment.  Since the aligners have to be worn for 22 hours a day, it is imperative you remember to keep them in whenever possible.  Therefore, if you don’t think you’ll be able to maintain the usage, perhaps another option would be a better fit for you.
